I sometimes make gavels to give as awards at speech and Debate tournaments

I also made some gavels for debate tournaments.  These are over 12" and made of pine.

This is a small (12 inch) oak gavel.  I made it from shop scraps.

This is a three foot long solid oak gavel I made.  It went out to the top Parli speaker at the Truman tournament.

To give an idea of the size of the gavel.  It is pine that has been stained darker.
